Together 2012
2012 band members performing locally in their bands simultaneously
at 11.00 am on Saturday July 24th.
We now have just over 700 individuals in bands signed up to take part, but need to quickly raise this to 2012 - or as near as we can, so that we can begin to launch a media awareness campaign - with the support of the well connected London 2012 media team.
From our current 32 bands signed up, only one is BB (1st Sawston), and we really need your support.
We appreciate it's the start of the school holidays, but that hasn't stopped the Olympics from involving thousands of youth groups before on this week-end - and bands can if depleted perform small ensembles. You will note from our previous e mails the imaginative places which bands already signed up have agreed to perform at. The latest is a drum section routine on mats on board a ferry taking the band to a European tour!
Please do all you can to get as many BB & GB bands to take part so that we can prove to London 2012 organisers how effective we can be and how we can engage a large number of young people. Perhaps though this the activity will get an invitation to perform at one of the Ceremonies ? BUT we won't unless they know we can work together !
